Blog #2 - Strong Delusion
What do these words mean? Well, before I give you a definition I want to take you to scripture in the New Testament. 2 Thessalonians 2 (speaking to Christians – you have to remember the new testament is written to believers) starts out speaking to the church about the coming of the Lord, the revealing of the antichrist and what is holding him back from being revealed.
The Word tells us (the church) to “let no man deceive you by any means“. Well, I for one refuse to be deceived by the devil, people, or those who are aligning themselves with the spirit of the antichrist. I am not in darkness but the light. I refuse to let the day of the Lord come and not know about it because I am Word based, Word taught, walking in the Light, and led by the Holy Spirit. No brag, just fact. But, most of the church is not. They are swallowing almost anything the world says, don’t even want to know what is going on, caught up in political correctness, and going through the motions of being spiritual.
For a lack of time please read 2 Thess 2:1-6 but we will start w/verse 7.
For the mystery of iniquity (Amplified = Lawlessness) doth already work:… 8. And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders 10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11. And for this cause Godshall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
These scriptures are hard but true. You and I know this. Now notice, not just delusion but strong delusion. The greek word is planos: to deceive, or seduce, as from an imposter. Or simply, “you been conned.” Or scriptually, we could say, you have been “Strongly Conned“. Have you ever heard of a “Con Artist“? This type of individual is not just inept, incompetent, or have lack of experience or just don’t understand the situation at hand or maybe not ready for prime time as some may say. Some of those things may apply but the truth is: He or she is lying to you. These type of individuals are intentionally misleading you and baiting you for their malevolent intentions. As a pastor, I have had some experience w/some of these individuals. Some are pretty good at it especially w/their smooth talk. I remember watching a movie where a man said, “I’m a politician, I can be kissing your babies and at the same time stealing their candy from behind their backs.” One example could be 2 Tim 3:5-7, “Having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lust, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” The scripture tells us they allure with “great swelling words“. Daniel tells us in the end of years one shall obtain his kingdom by flatteries and shall corrupt by his flatteries. We call them “Smooth Operators”. But, you don’t have to be deceived, seduced, or conned by them. You can have understanding.
The majority of the people in the US and the world have been conned and by a master at it. I stand amazed at the gullibleness and stupidity of this nation and MANY Christians. They simply believed the lies told to them, even though the handwriting was on the wall. What did the Apostle Paul say in 2 Thess 2, unto us? God will do what? “They received not the love of the truth…And for this cause God shall send them Strong Delusion, that they should believe a lie:” You are bound to know that I am laying a foundation to back up the vision I received and shared w/you in our last blog. Stay tuned for more. Can you take it? Like one man says, “The spin stops here.” Part 2 of STRONG DELUSION is next!!! See you there.
